This Privacy Policy explains how CruitXperts ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and platform (the "Service"), whether you're a job candidate, a company we're recruiting for, or simply browsing our site. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).

Profile information: If you're a candidate, this includes your professional title, location, bio, skills, work experience, education, certificates, and portfolio links you choose to add.

Resume/CV: If you upload a resume, we store the file itself along with the filename and upload date. Your resume is private by default — only you, and recruiters or companies involved in your application process, can view it.

Application data: When you apply to a job, we record which job, when, and the status of that application as it moves through our hiring process.

Communications: Messages you send through the platform between candidates and our recruiting team, and any messages you send us directly (e.g., through our Contact form).

Usage data: Basic technical information such as browser type, pages visited, and general usage patterns, collected automatically to help us maintain and improve the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Match candidates with relevant job opportunities
• Process job applications and communicate with you about their status
• Allow our recruiters to review candidate profiles and resumes on behalf of hiring companies
• Respond to inquiries submitted through our Contact form
• Send you account-related notifications, based on your notification preferences
• Improve and maintain the security and functionality of the Service

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

• With our recruiting team: CruitXperts recruiters can view candidate profiles, applications, and resumes to manage the hiring process on behalf of the companies we recruit for.
• With hiring companies: When appropriate to a role you've applied for, relevant profile and application information may be shared with the company we're recruiting for on that role.
• Service providers: We use third-party infrastructure providers (such as our database and file storage provider, and our hosting provider) to operate the Service. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or in good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or protect the safety of users or the public.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using industry-standard infrastructure with encryption in transit. We use access controls (row-level security policies) to ensure that only authorized parties — you, our recruiting team, or the relevant hiring company — can access your information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including the ability to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information (most profile fields can be edited directly in your dashboard)
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for optional communications at any time via your notification settings
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data

7. Cookies & Tracking

We use limited cookies and browser storage necessary for the Service to function (for example, keeping you logged in). We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers.

8. International Data Transfers

CruitXperts operates across North America, Europe, and Africa. As a result, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country other than the one in which you reside. Where required by law (such as for users in the European Economic Area), we take steps to ensure such transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
